For one of my final courses for my Bachelor of Engineering, I conducted independent research with Dr. Benoit Cushman-Roisin, Professor of Engineering at Thayer, exploring the environmental effects of offshore wind farms.
As offshore wind is a relatively new industry around the world (and especially in the U.S.), I wanted to explore the existing literature and identify knowledge gaps and areas for improvement. This independent course explored wind turbine technology, ocean acoustics, benthic, pelagic, and aerial ecosystems, as well as marine policy.
