From 2020 to 2023, I worked for Ocean Winds on their SouthCoast Wind (formerly Mayflower Wind) offshore wind project as an Offshore Permitting Analyst and Associate. I worked with the SouthCoast permitting team and larger project team to lead the federal and offshore permitting efforts for the project. In my initial time at OceanWinds/SouthCoast Wind, I focused primarily on the Construction and Operations Plan (see BOEM’s website for copies of Volume I, Volume II, and appendices).
I also worked with the offshore/federal permitting team to put together applications for an EPA Air Permit, EPA National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permit, NMFS Letter of Authorization for construction, USACE Section 10 and 404 permits, amongst others. Additionally, I supported the public affairs teams by attending occasional outreach events to represent the project and permitting team.
In the latter half of my time at SouthCoast Wind, I focused primarily on obtaining permits for SouthCoast Wind’s geophysical and geotechnical surveys. This included updating SouthCoast Wind’s survey plan and responding to comments from BOEM, obtaining an Incidental Take Authorization from NMFS, and reporting any environmental incidents and archaeological discoveries to the appropriate agencies.

While working on the SouthCoast Wind Project, I participated in the Bristol Community College National Offshore Wind Institute’s speaker series to talk about women in the offshore wind industry.
